Other Programs for Paraprofessionals

Paraprofessionals can take advantage of several programs offered by the NYCPS Department of Human Resources Office of School Support.

Earn Your Bachelor's Degree

Career Training Program
Full-time paraprofessionals who are enrolled in a participating university with at least a 2.0 GPA receive free tuition for up to 6 credits per semester.

Bilingual Pupil Services Program
Paraprofessionals who have earned at least 75 college credits and are fluent in Spanish, Chinese, or Haitian Creole receive free tuition up to 12 credits per semester, a paid internship, and support.

Earn Your Master's Degree

Jose P. Graduate Scholarship Program
Newly hired paraprofessionals in select high-need areas can receive up to $24,000 in tax-free student loan forgiveness over six years of service at NYCPS. Eligible fields include bilingual special education, school psychology, and speech-language pathology.
