NYC Teaching Fellows is one of the country鈥檚 largest and most selective accelerated teacher training programs. Since 2000, it has prepared thousands of teachers for high-need schools and subject areas. Today, more than 9,000 Fellows work in the city鈥檚 schools.

You hold a bachelor鈥檚 degree in a major other than education, with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Based on your educational history and preferences, you will be matched to a high-need subject area like math, science, Spanish, bilingual education, and Students with Disabilities.聽
The application opens November 5th at 12pm. The rigorous process includes an online application, a possible phone interview, and a virtual selection event. Early applicants have the best chance of receiving their preferred subject area.
Fellows complete a seven-week summer training intensive from June-August and begin teaching in September. You complete a subsidized master鈥檚 program and earn your certification while teaching, typically within two to three years.
Choose where you work. Fellows can teach in over 900 schools from our Eligible Schools List and earn additional incentives for teaching in the Bronx. You apply to your preferred schools with support from the Teaching Fellows staff.
